Brexit (Referendum) and UK immigration for EEA nationals and their dependants. – E & S Consultancy

Brexit (Referendum) and UK immigration for EEA nationals and their dependants.

On 24 June 2016 the result of the European Union referendum has been confirmed, and the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. The result would have very important implications towards EEA nationals and their dependants that have been living and working in the UK and any future migration of EEA nationals and their dependants to the United Kingdom.

At this moment, it is not clear when and what kind of restrictions will be implemented towards EEA nationals and their dependants in terms of UK immigration, but it is definite that there will be some serious implications.

EEA nationals and their dependants can contact us on applying for permanent residence/British citizenship if they lived and worked in the UK for 6 years or obtaining family permits for dependants of EEA nationals to avoid any future changes in UK immigration rules that could impact their status in the UK.
